You Are Invited ~ Join The Fourth Degree!
Trifold October 2015

You are encouraged to become a proud member of the Fourth Degree, the highest degree of our Order, whose principle stands for Patriotism. Fourth Degree members are deeply involved in promoting love for country, a deeper devotion to our Catholic faith and support of our clergy. Founded in 1900 to combat the discrimination of the day against the Church, they are often referred to as “the Visible Arm of the Order”. Many Fourth Degree members are seen, in their colorful regalia, performing in honor guards for our parishes, councils and communities. Yes, there are monthly meetings but also social nights (“Open” meetings) that you are encouraged to bring the wife and family to. Annual dues (to the 4th Degree Assembly) are only $20 plus the $15 to support the Chalice Fund for donations in memory of our departed Sir Knights.

All 3rd Degree Knights interested in being Exemplified into the Fourth Degree need to have made their Major Degrees (2nd & 3rd), be a citizen of the country in which you reside and be a Brother Knight in good standing You are hereby advised that the Fall Exemplification will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 in Dallas! If that doesn’t fit into your schedule, the next opportunity will be in Spring 2016, location TBD.

Time is short, as our final deadline for considering your applications and getting all paperwork completed is September 1. Please contact SK Jim Hale, Faithful Admiral, at 214-392-3230 or email him at for more information.

The Father Abram J. Ryan Assembly was chartered April 6, 1914. It is Council 799’s assigned assembly, and together they share a long history!

I’m attaching the flyer (aka ‘Trifold’) to this email. I have plenty of the Form-4 applications, etc. Trifold has the detailed schedule for the day plus hotel information – note that parking at the Marriott is $14 daily unless a room is booked – no exceptions. I am NOT sending the reservation form, because that’s likely to get sent in without any other paperwork, only causing mass confusion at District (and US).

Simply means we need to get each man, in-person, to 1.) fill out a Form-4, 2.) complete the reservation form and 3.) submit their payment. Get all the required signatures at both council and assembly levels. Then we still must read-in their names in to the committee & for full membership approvals…whew.

Speaking of money, the Candidate’s Fee is $70, which includes their banquet ticket. The Ladies Luncheon is $25, and all guest tickets for the evening banquet are $35. Plus, if they don’t own one yet, there’s a tuxedo they need since that is the required attire for both candidates as well as members at exemplifications. ISW, K&G (ugh) or Al’s Formal Wear. The $99 special at K&G is lightweight material and cheap. But you do get what you pay for ….recommend traditional, one or two button, peaked lapels, not shawl collar. No vest either.
