In memory of Brother Knight Thomas Hoot

A memorial service for Mr. Hoot will be held at the Wildwood Chapel, Restland Funeral Home, Dallas, TX on July 1, 2015 at 10:00AM. All are welcome to attend to honor Tom’s life.

Thomas Edwin Hoot passed away peacefully in Dallas, TX on June 17, 2015. He was 73.
Tom was born on December 6, 1941 in Dallas, TX to Dr. Edwin and Mrs. Lou Hoot. He grew up and attended high school in Dallas, TX and later graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Business Administration and Industrial Management. He married Bettye Brown Hoot in 1969 in Dallas, TX. Bettye and Tom lived over the years in Dallas, Houston and Austin, TX, and had one daughter, Leshia. Tom worked for many years in purchasing and industrial management, first in the oil industry in Houston and later in the electronics industry in Austin and Dallas. He was a member of the A. C. Garrett Masonic Lodge in Dallas, TX.

Tom will be remembered for his love of genealogy and family history, interest in computers and electronics, and love for movies new and old.

Tom is preceded in death by his wife, Bettye Brown Hoot and his parents Dr. Ed and Mrs. Lou Hoot. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Dr. Joe Hoot and Mrs. Margaret Hoot of Canton, TX; sister Kathey Peat of Dallas, TX; daughter Noel Hoot; daughter and son-in-law Leshia and Kevin Crotty of Austin, TX; and one grandson.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Thinkery Museum of Austin, TX to honor Tom’s love of learning and tinkering or the Hope For The Warriors project to honor Tom’s respect of our nation’s armed forces.

In memory of Brother Knight Robert (Bob) Cahill

We have received word that Brother Knight Robert Cahill passed away this Monday.  Brother Cahill was the mastermind behind the many Coach Cahill Dance Parties that he ran in the upper hall for many years.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Brown’s Funeral Home in Irving, Texas.  Rosary at 7:00pm-7:30pm. (Address: 707 N. MacArthur, Irving, TX 75061)

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Cistercian Preparatory School at 2:00 pm with Father Paul McCormick officiating. (Address: 3660 Cistercian Rd, Irving, TX 75039). Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Irving, Texas.

Robert “Coach” Cahill, age 74, of Dallas, Texas, died Monday, June 22, 2015. Born January 21, 1941, he is survived by his daughter, Julianne and two grand-daughters, Kristen and Kelsey. A Jesuit honoree-alumni, he began his long career in education in Bremond, Texas coaching and mentoring youth. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was known for his positive attitude and steadfast friendships. He was actively involved in the Knights of Columbus. A beloved coach, friend, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed being outside and enjoyed the company of friends (which he made everywhere he went). He was also a die-hard Texas Rangers fan. In his spare time, he played tennis, spent weekends with family and friends grilling and enjoying the outdoors. He was a leader by example and never met a stranger. His favorite phrase was “Go Get ‘Em!” and he lived by that motto every day.
