Brother Knight Host Culture for Life Concert January 23!
Posted by Thomas Kelton in Events on January 6th, 2010
David Holder, our Pro-Life chair for KC799 is heading up yet another important event this month. On January 23, the Culture for Life Concert will be held at the Museum of Biblical Art, and the event includes dinner and a concert. Our very own brother knight, and accomplished violinist, Hubert Pralitz will provide the music. There will also be a string ensemble, a choir, and a jazz ensemble. The concert benefits Birth Choice Counseling Centers for Women.
If you are interested in attending, contact David Holder, Hubert Pralitz (hpralitz@smu.edu), or call 972-783-0890. Let’s all recognize the significant contributions that many of our brother knights make for protecting the unborn.

Kids’ Christmas Party a Huge Success!
Posted by Thomas Kelton in Events on December 19th, 2009
On December 13, KC799 hosted the annual Kids’ Christmas Party. There was food, punch, balloon animals, cookie decorating, and Santa. The St. Pat’s Mothers Club provided a make-it-yourself Christmas ornament as a project as well.
The number of attendees was roughly double last year’s number. We had about 75 kids and about 130 people total. Oliver’s crew kept the food and punch coming.
We would like to thank all of our volunteers this year. Among those who helped out: Chris Widhelm, Joe Martin, the Lucidos, the Trelfords, Melanie Charest, Ski Stanisewski, Rick Alvizo, Gerry Renaud, John Guerra, and others.
If you have some photos you would like added to the gallery for the Christmas party you can send them to kofc799@gmail.com.
Help Our Sisters Distribute Turkeys November 23
Posted by Thomas Kelton in Volunteer on November 12th, 2009
We’re joining with KC 6065 (St. Mark’s) to distribute turkeys and groceries at St. James Parish to some very deserving families. The Missionaries of Charity do the selection, and the KCs do the heavy lifting. It all starts at about 9:30am on 11/23 at 2104 Harlandale, 75216 (south Dallas by the Zoo). Mass will start at 9:00 in the church, and then the work begins.
KC799 has been doing this event for several years now. Everyone who went last year had a great time, and it is one of the few opportunities we have to directly interface with, and help, the needy. Please contact Brian Bessner at bbatkofc@aol.com (or just show up).
