Annual Paul Bagley/Cardy Vance Sisters Appreciation Dinner

Dear Brother Knight:

One of the great annual traditions at Council 799 is the Paul Bagley/Cardy Vance Sisters’ Appreciation Dinner. This year’s event will be held in the upper hall on Sunday, February 19, 2012, beginning at 12:30 p.m.

The Sisters’ Appreciation Dinner is our way of saying “Thank You” to all of the Sisters in the Dallas Diocese for their wonderful efforts in teaching our children, nursing our sick, praying for us, caring for our elderly, ministering to the poor, and all the other good works they perform. It is an afternoon of fellowship and fun with their friends and associates from all the Religious Communities in the Dallas area.

The Sisters eagerly look forward to this annual event where they are given an opportunity to renew old acquaintances, create new ones, and visit with each other in a relaxed atmosphere. A fine dinner, prepared by Brother Knights, is served and small gifts are presented to each Sister. To add to the excitement, numerous door prizes are awarded. These items are not luxury items, nor are they extravagant. We will have gift cards from local stores so the Sisters can purchase personal items they need, gift certificates from various Dallas restaurants, personal stationary and cards, etc.

Will you please help us with this most worthwhile endeavor by making a cash donation or by donating a door prize, gift card, or similar item(s)? Please make your checks payable to KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS and send them to my attention at 10110 Shoreview, Dallas, Texas, 75238.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact me the Council offices (214.348.3931 or 214.348.7940).

Thank you in advance for your support of this extremely worthwhile event.

Fraternally,
John J. Little
Grand Knight, Council 799

Demo/Grill Event for the Sisters of the Holy Family of the Nazereth

On Saturday November 19 we will be participating in an event to help out the Sisters of hte Holy Family of the Nazereth convent in Grand Prarie. The event will consist of one group at the convent clearing trees and hauling them back into the property. The second group will be preparing lunch at the council hall and will transit that over to the convent for lunch.
The outdoor work at the convent will start around 8:30 and run till noon. Please be sure to wear gloves, work boots, and bring any power tools that cut if you have them. If its anything like last year, this is extremely rewarding. Directions to the facility can be found here: http://binged.it/vXEjl1

The second group will be meeting mid morning at the council hall to prepare food for the group. Around noon the group will be bringing the food out to the kitchen at the convent for lunch, which will formally be the conclustion of the event. I would expect to head out around 1.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via email at ryan.r.collier@gmail.com or on my cell 214.226.4423.
