3rd Annual KC799 Soccer Challenge

Ole.. Ole.. Ole..Ole ….Mark your calendars now for the 3rd Annual KC 799 Soccer Challenge. We had an outstanding turnout for last years event and are looking for bigger and better in 09. This event is open to all boys and girls ages 10 – 14. Just like last year, winners in each age group will be eligible to compete in the Diocesan Final at Pizza Hut park prior to the FC Dallas home finale in October. This years event will be held on Sunday September 27 from 2-4pm. Hot Dogs, drinks and souvenirs will be provided. The challenge will be held at St Patrick’s Lower Field (same as last year). Knights on Bikes Report

St. Mary’s of the Assumption celebrated 100 years of service to the community this weekend. Knights on Bikes rode in and attended mass on Saturday August, 15, 2009 at noon. 10 cyclist attended and presented the church with a 4 ft wooden statue of Mary from Mexico that was approximately 100 years old. Willie Davidson our vice president also presented a 6ft statue of Mary of the Assumption that was placed in the courtyard. St. Mary’s is renovating their church stained glass windows and are asking 4th degree knights from Dallas and Ft. Worth to contribute to the renovation. The windows cost approximately $40,000 dollars to restore. If you would like to contribute to the renovation please let me know.

Sunday the 16th four riders to a day jaunt to Win Star casino for a day ride and quick gambling. Dwayne Friesien, Byron Mc Knight and Mike Savage. We had a good ride through North Texas. If you are interested in riding with us give me a call and we would be happy to get you involved.

Men Needed to Promote Football Frenzy

The nationwide Knights of Columbus organization is preparing for another year’s Football Frenzy. Every ticket sold for KC 799 goes toward our fees due to the nationwide organization. KC 799 needs two members to help promote the Football Frenzy in our council. Please contact Thomas Kelton at 214-855-7115 to volunteer. New members are especially encouraged to join the effort!

Fourth of July Event Raises Money for Good Causes

he numbers are in, and KC 799′s Fourth of July pool party has raised over $10,000. KC 799 thanks all of the volunteers, as well as the folks who came out and had a great time. Of special note is Jim Hale, who headed the event.
